Can-Am equipped the 2-door and 4-door Defender HD11 with different factory clutch weight calibrations for a reason—they have different vehicle weight, load characteristics, and performance requirements.
Rather than relying on a single baseline calibration, we independently tested both 2-door and 4-door models to develop our own custom calibrations. We then refine each setup based on your vehicle configuration, tire size, and driving preference before it ships.
The result is a QSC clutch kit that's calibrated specifically for your machine—not just assembled.
Why Calibration Matters
During testing, we evaluated the standard Performance/Trail calibration as our baseline. While it successfully lowered engagement RPM, our GPS testing showed there was still significant room for improvement in acceleration and clutch efficiency—especially on the Defender MAX HD11. Rather than accept that tradeoff, we continued refining the calibration until we achieved lower engagement where desired while significantly improving acceleration, belt grip, and overall drivability.
